Hazard ratios for all types of stroke, hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke in the three treatment groups. Model 1: hazard ratios were adjusted by sex, age, body mass index, systolic blood pressure at baseline, previous history of cerebral events, diabetes, dyslipidemia and prescription of anti-platelets. Model 2: hazard ratios were adjusted for systolic blood pressure as a time-dependent covariate. Hemorrhagic stroke: intracerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage; ischemic stroke: lacunar stroke, large-artery stroke, cardioembolic stroke and unknown ischemic type. ARB, angiotensin receptor blocker; Beni, benidipine; BB, β-blocker; CI, confidence interval; TD, thiazide diuretic.
