Effects of valsartan and angiotensin II on interleukin-6 (IL-6) transcription and secretion in mature adipocytes. 3T3-L1 adipocytes 8 days after adipogenic induction were treated with dimethyl sulfoxide (Cont), 50 μmol l−1 valsartan(Val), 10 μmol l−1 angiotensin II (Ang) alone or a combination (Ang+Val) for 2 days. (a) The messenger RNA (mRNA) expression and (b) release in the culture medium of IL-6 were assessed by quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively.
