From: Loss of anti-contractile effect of perivascular adipose tissue in offspring of obese rats
The anti-contractile effect of PVAT is lost in offspring of HFD dams. The contractions to 60 mM K+ PSS were similar in PVAT-denuded and PVAT-intact vessels from (a) 12- and (b) 24-week-old offspring. PVAT reduced contractions to U46619 in vessels from (c) 12- and (e) 24-week-old offspring of control dams but not in arteries from (d) 12- and (f) 24-week-old offspring of HFD dams.
