The inhibitory effect of NaF on IL-1β-induced inflammation. Human primary gingival fibroblasts (2 × 105) were treated with 10 ng·mL−1 human recombinant IL-1β for 24 h with or without NaF, and levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in the culture supernatants were measured by ELISA. Pretreatment with 500 μmol·L−1 NaF significantly decreased IL-6 and IL-8 production in HGFs.
