TF expression in ARPE-19 cells. (a, b) ARPE-19 cells stimulated with 10 μg/ml LPS demonstrated increased TF protein expression compared with nonstimulated control cells. (c) Dose-response curve for LPS; increased TF mRNA expression with increasing concentration of LPS (^*P<0.05; ^**P<0.01; n=3). There was no statistically significant difference among 1, 5, and 10 μg treatments. (d, e) TF protein expression in ARPE-19 cells increased when stimulated with H₂O₂ compared with control cells. (f) TF mRNA expression slightly increased upon H₂O₂ stimulation (n=3). (g, h) Stimulation with 10 μg LPS and 200 μM H₂O₂ induced a moderate increase in TF protein expression compared with the control. The result of the combination of stimulants was similar to that of LPS treatment alone. (i) LPS alone increased TF mRNA expression by 3.88-fold over the baseline level, similar to the previous results. Addition of H₂O₂ further enhanced TF transcript level but the difference was not statistically significant (^*P<0.01; n=3).
