Comparison of the density of neutrophils in the epidermis of PLCɛ^+/+ and PLCɛ^−/− mice irradiated with UVB. The shaved dorsal skins of PLCɛ^+/+ (white bar) and PLCɛ^−/− (black bar) mice were irradiated with a single dose of UVB at 2.5 kJ/m² (n=10 for each PLCɛ background, 5 male mice and 5 female mice). Skin specimens were prepared at 24 and 48 h after irradiation, and were stained with H&E. The density of neutrophils in the epidermis at each time point was calculated together with samples used in Figure 1 as described in Materials and methods.
