Effects of FGF-2 on proliferation and morphology of fibroblasts derived from normal skin or hypertrophic scars (HTSs). (a) Proliferation was promoted by FGF-2 in both normal skin-derived and HTS-derived fibroblasts and the proliferative effect of FGF-2 was inhibited by a JNK inhibitor in both cells. Values are expressed as mean values±s.e.m. (n=6); *P<0.05 for comparison of cell number with or without FGF-2 or JNK inhibitor. (b) Normal skin-derived fibroblasts and HTS-derived fibroblasts were morphologically similar. Scale bar=200 μm.
