Transforming growth factor (TGF)-α-induced mRNA expression of fibrosis-related genes (a) and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) protein (b) and collagenase activity (c) in RLT-PSC cells and primary pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs). *P<0.05 and **P<0.01 vs the corresponding controls. The levels of mRNA expression were standardized to that of the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) mRNA.
