Metacam reduced peritoneal permeability caused by adjuvant-induced peritonitis. Incomplete Freund’s adjuvant was injected into the peritoneal cavity of mice in order to induce peritonitis. Mice were randomly divided into two groups that were treated or not treated with Metacam. Representative images of the nose (N) and paws (P) are shown in a. The permeability of peritoneal membrane from Metacam-treated mice is lower than in the inflamed mice group (b). The calibration curve equation was determined from the results of a linear curve fitting model, where the slope for each of the mice from both groups were determined (Figure 3c) (n=4 mice per group). Area under the curve and slope of the curve were used for the statistical analysis, showing similar results. *P<0.05.
