  2. The probe names include one of the three suffixes to indicate their chemical structure. ABI is used for Taqman probes with TAMRA synthesized by Applied Biosystems, Foster City, California, USA; MGB is for probes with major groove-binding capacity made by ABI and LNA is for Locked Nucleotide probes made by Proligo, Paris, France. Data for the four pairs of LNA and MGB probes were equivalent and combined for analysis. The VH3 probe is based on longer sequence published by Kwan et al.,5 and the J and Kde probes have been published previously.2, 3
