Two distinct subsets of gut NK cells exist in different regions of the human colon. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining depicts (a) IEL NK cells stained in brown with GAH NKp46 antibody and (b) LP NK cells stained in brown with MAH NKp46 antibody. To confirm that NKp46+ cells were not T cells, double staining IHC was performed with CD3 in brown and (c) GAH NKp46 and (d) MAH NKp46 in red.
