CD49d mucosal trafficking receptor expressing emTh cells at 15 dpi with B. pertussis. Mononuclear cells were collected from lungs of mice infected with B. pertussis and CD4+ cells were analyzed by flow cytometry and gated on CD44+ and CD49d+cells. The frequency of cells expressing CD29 and β7 was analyzed on extracellular stained cells and IL-17A- and IFNγ-expressing cells were identified by intracellular staining as detailed in materials and methods.
