Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) colonization modulates LGG colonization benefits maturation of the intestinal microbiota in 3-week-old mice. Mice were treated as described in Figure 2. Genomic DNA was extracted from colonic tissues of 3-week-old pups to assess the community composition of the mucosally-adherent microbiota by 454-based 16S rRNA amplicon library sequencing. Shannon diversity (a) and Chao1 richness (b), and detailed relative abundance of bacterial taxa at the genus level (c) are shown. n=5 in each group.
