From: Hypomethylation of long interspersed nuclear element-1 in hepatocellular carcinomas
LINE-1 methylation levels in hepatocellular carcinoma samples and corresponding nonneoplastic liver parenchyma samples from high-risk and low-risk countries. The nonneoplastic liver parenchyma sample is above or below the tumor sample from the same patient. The levels of LINE-1 hypomethylation in tumor samples from high-risk country are more than that of tumor samples from low-risk country. There is no significant difference in LINE-1 hypomethylation between nonneoplastic liver parenchyma samples from high-risk and low-risk countries.
