Representative low to medium power views of hematoxylin and eosin stained sections of a testicular polyembryoma (Case 1). All images contain darkly staining germ discs composed of embryonal carcinoma-type epithelium with underlying thin wispy yolk-sac epithelium (best seen in d) with the latter image demonstrating two well-formed embryoid bodies. Prominent fibrous (a, b) to myxoid (c) stroma surrounds the clusters of embryoid bodies. Scattered foci of hemorrhage (a–d) and cysts (a, upper left) may be striking in some polyembryomas.
