The photomicrograph shows a typical fibrolamellar carcinoma composed of oncocytic neoplastic cells with prominent macronucleoli. The neoplastic cells form trabecula, which are separated by bands of fibrosis (original magnification × 200). Inset: the original toluidine stained slide from 1915 revealed the same histologic features and focal intratumoral steatosis.
