(b,c) Proliferation of cells grown in the absence of serum and growth factors, and in the presence or absence of 50 μM BSO, was determined with the SRB assay (data are from one experiment (Supplementary Table 1)). (d,e) Viability of cells grown in full growth media for 48 h in the presence of increasing doses of BSO was measured using the WST-1 assay.
