The median is represented by the horizontal black bar, the lower and upper boundaries of the box represent the lower (25%) and upper (75%) quartiles of the data and the whiskers represent the minimum and maximum values, excluding outliers. Outliers are represented as points outside the whiskers. The NO3 sample concentrations reported here are higher than the true average for these Uinta Mountain sites, because sample selection for isotopic analysis was limited by nitrate concentration.
