Degradation of 5′-fluorescein-labelled RNA polymerase ribozyme in extension buffer (200 mM Mg2+) for 7 days (left panel) and as a function of time (right panel) at 17 °C (red circles) or in ice at −7 °C (blue diamonds) (means ± s.d., n=3). Exponential decay functions were fit to the data, suggesting decay constants of 0.319 (17 °C; R2=0.9945) and 0.043 (−7 °C; R2=0.973) per day.
