(a) Seven-week-old APCMin/+ mice were treated for 12 weeks with vehicle or with 90 IU per week LMWH via osmotic pumps. At the end of the treatment, mice were killed and intestinal tumours counted. (b,c) Blood was collected by heart puncture from mice treated as in a, separated on a Ficoll gradient and numbers of total HDNs and LDNs were determined by flow cytometry. Results are pooled from two independent experiments (n=9 mice per group). Significance was calculated by using unpaired T-test (NS, not significant; *P<0.05 and ***P<0.001). In panel a horizontal lines indicate mean with standard deviation (s.d.). Panels b and c bar graph show mean plus s.e.m.
