Data are means±s.e.m. of cell percentages found per area in three orexin-Cre brains and six Pmch-Cre brains. ‘Undefined’ refers to cells located outside anatomically named areas of the Allen Atlas. The anatomical acronyms are based on the Allen Atlas, and are fully defined in Supplementary Fig. 5.
