We plot the coupling constants Jij (in units of ), for a system of six ions at different detunings δ=ωNωL. Rabi frequencies are taken as constants Ωi=const. (a) For negative detuning, δ=−2π × 159 kHz, interactions have a power-law decay. (b) For positive detuning, δ=2π × 796 kHz, the coupling constants resemble a spin glass.
