Adults of the Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica, are shown with red circles, those of the giant mottled eel, Anguilla marmorata, with yellow circles and tows that collected no adult eels with white circles. Eels were collected in June and August 2008, and in June 2009. Every tow of a trawl is represented with a circle plotted at the midpoint of each deployment. Black scale bar, 50 km.
