(a) Relative peak intensity of the negative ions representing the end (SO4CH and SO4CH2) and side (CN and CNO) functional groups of the original PAM and C200, with CH as the reference. The decreased relative peak intensity of the ions shows the reduction of the end and side groups in C200. (b) Peaks of CaSO4CH (mass 149.0) and CaSO4CH2 (mass 150.0) appear in C200, and their relative intensities do not change before and after being stretched 60 times, indicating the strong connection between CNS and PAM end group. C200 represents PAM/CNS NC gel with 200 p.p.m. CNS concentration.
