(a) Apatite and merrillite in DaG 978, and the Ca–phosphate in Allende have a positive Eu anomaly with heavy rare earth elements slightly depleted than light rare earth elements. (b) The rare earth element compositions in apatite in ordinary chondrites, which were determined by SIMS. Note that apatite grains in less equilibrated ordinary chondrites (H4 Yamato 74371 and LL3.9 Boxian) may contain weak, positive Eu anomalies. Data for Ca–phosphates in ordinary chondrites and Allende are from refs 9, 11, 14.
