The upper-right site in Fig. 1c was illuminated with both the 461 and 405 nm lasers for the variable photo-ionization time, and the presence or absence of an ion in the trap was subsequently determined. Each trial was repeated 200 times per point to find the loading probability. Fit to model 
yields a time constant
