Note that Prox1 staining does not co-localize with endothelial cells (CD31, arrows). (b) Prox1 positive nuclei (magenta) in MyHC I (green) positive slow muscle fibres in rat tibialis anterior muscle. Few Prox1 positive nuclei were found also in the proximity of fast fibres. (c) Prox1 mRNA expression in various rat skeletal muscles. Note the highest expression in the slow soleus (SOL) muscle.
