(b) Current-dependent dI/dV spectra (closed feedback loop) recorded at the centre of the SFT in a. The spectra reveal no significant shift of the electronic states with varying electric field, which is determined by the tunnelling current. (c) Corresponding series of local density of states (LDOS) maps recorded at the indicated voltages (image sizes are 9 × 9 nm2, except for the image at 4,200 mV which is 6 × 6 nm2). (d) LDOS map at 3,400 mV (top) and simulated image (bottom). Dashed lines are added as guides for the eye.
