The solid red line represents the fraction of tracer within 1,000 m of the seafloor (referred to as SML) and the dashed line represents the fraction of volume occupied by tracer that is in the SML, that is, the ratio of the volume occupied by tracer within the SML to the total volume occupied by the tracer. The right axis shows the two ratios multiplied by the mean diffusivity within the SML ( m2s−1). The plot is made for day 150 into the simulation, same day used for Figs 6, 7 and 8.
