Low-frequency phase coupling differences (aversive—landscapes) for pairs of electrodes targeting the amygdala (red dots) and hippocampal subfields (blue dots), depicted with hive plots. Differences in the PLV between aversive and neutral conditions are presented in colour, with warmer colours indicating a greater magnitude of the contrast. Significance levels derived from permutation testing are indicated by the thickness of lines connecting each electrode pair. Asterisks represent electrode pairs with the most significant PLV that were used for directional coupling analyses in Figs 3 and 4.
