(a) Attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectra of pristine VO2, AA-treated VO2 sample and pure AA molecules, respectively. The enolic C–O–H scissoring and stretching vibration of AA molecule at 1,271 and 1,318 cm−1 labelled by red dots disappear in the AA-treated VO2 spectrum, and a new peak labelled by green triangle occurs at 1,390 cm−1 in the spectrum of AA-treated VO2 sample.
