The number of inhibitory Ly49r on NK-cell subsets has an impact on the proportion of DNAM-1+ cells within that subset. B6 or B2m−/− NK cells, stained for inhibitory receptors as for Fig. 2a, have been grouped based on the number of inhibitory Ly49r they express (regardless of which combination of inhibitory receptors). The frequency of DNAM-1+ NK cells within each group is shown for NKG2A− cells in a and for NKG2A+ cells in b.
