(a) Control, USP13 knockout, and USP13 knockout cells stably expressing the indicated constructs were left untreated or treated with IR (2 Gy). After a further 1 h, cells were collected, fixed and stained with anti-phospho-H3 antibodies to determine the mitotic population (mitotic index). (b-c) The sensitivity of the same cells as in a to IR (b) and cisplatin (c) were assessed using colony formation assay. (d) Control and USP13 knockout, RAP80 knockout or USP13 and RAP80 double-knockout cells were subjected to mitotic population determination as in a. (e–f) The sensitivity of cells the same as in d to IR (e) and cisplatin (f) were assessed using colony formation assay. (a-f) Error bars represent±s.e.m. from three independent experiments. **P<0.01. Statistical analyses were performed with the ANOVA. ANOVA, analysis of variance.
