  1. τth and τM are, respectively, the demagnetization time obtained when fitting the data by the model described in the Methods section and the time at which the drop in magnetization reaches 63% of its maximum value. The standard deviation associated to each value of τth and τM is lower than 25 fs (see Supplementary Table S1 for the complete set of fitting parameters and associated errors).
