The dashed lines indicate the HOMO and the LUMO of pentacene films. The solid lines show the position of the nanocrystal bands used in this study. The HOMO of pentacene and the nanocrystal valence-band energies were measured using UPS. The energy levels of nanocrystals with a clear pentacene contribution in the EQE spectra are marked with a tick and the nanocrystals that do not show the full pentacene contribution are marked with a cross.
