For (a) μ0Hf=100 mT and (b) μ0Hf=10 mT, a temporary reduction by |ΔK| from Khi=60 kJ m−3 to Klo over a 1 ns ramp time, for a range of damping-parameter values α, yields switching (pink); no switching despite precession below the x-y plane (blue); precession above the x-y plane only and, therefore, no switching (black); and switching with 50% probability (orange). The yellow points in (a,b) correspond to (a,b) in Figs 4 and 5, respectively.
