From: Si:P as a laboratory analogue for hydrogen on high magnetic field white dwarf stars

The colour maps show y–z plane cross-sections of probability density for hydrogen wavefunctions. The length scale of the panels is indicated at the top. The extremely strong mixing due to the field is evident from the drastic changes in shape. The equivalent wavefunctions for donors with B||z are almost indistinguishable apart from a shrinkage of the z dimension length scale by a factor √γ~0.5 due to the anisotropy, and the atomic unit of length is now 3.17 nm. The 2p– and 6p– are clearly visible in the donor Lyman spectrum (Fig. 2), while the 5f–2 state is forbidden for Lyman transitions.
