Local density approximation-derived bulk band structure parallel to the 
–
direction for several planes defined by different values of kz. There are different bands in the region around the point close to EF. Going along kz from the centre of the BZ to the top (bottom), one notices that they form a quasi-linear dispersion (two-dimensional) at kz=±0.285 (π/a), which gets enhanced as well as shifted in energy at the surface.
