The expression level of miR-135b is regulated by DNA methylation and NF-κB activity. Once miR-135b is upregulated, it suppresses downstream target genes such as LZTS1 and Hippo pathways, therefore promotes tumor growth, EMT, invasion/metastasis and cancer stemness.
