The species with AQS are R. speratus (N=107 colonies) and R. virginicus (N=16) and those without AQS are R. flavipes (N=43), R. okinawanus (N=11) and R. yaeyamanus (N=7). The AQS species (open bars) showed significantly female-biased investment in comparison with non-AQS species (closed bars) (GLM, P<0.0001). Error bars indicate standard errors.
