(a) Time-lapse microscopy. HeLa H2B–mCherry–α-tubulin–EGFP cells were cultured in the presence and absence of etoposide and cisplatin, respectively. Treated cells frequently developed multiple nuclei, including micronuclei (upper panel), and demonstrated evidence of multipolar spindles and misaligned chromosomes (lower panel). Cells were also much larger than untreated cells (see also Supplementary Fig. S3). Scale bar, 10 μm. (b) Statistical analysis of the data shown above.
