There was no obvious change in the yield of EtOH for the three catalysts prior to the thermal treatment. However, the catalytic performance of Cu@CuPSNT-in and Cu@CuPSNT-out catalysts upon 12-h thermal treatment was different. The EtOH yield of Cu@CuPSNT-out catalyst decreased from 70 to 47%, whereas Cu@CuPSNT-in catalyst decreased from 92 to 85%. The Cu@CuPSNT-in catalyst also exhibited a higher stability than our previous Cu/SiO2 catalyst (decreased from 81 to 63%). Reaction conditions: LHSV=2.0 h−1, H2/DMO=200, 553 K.
