The levels of TXB2 were measured by immunoassay in human PRP following stimulation with 1 μg ml−1 CRP-XL in the presence or absence of 100 μg ml−1 of 40Gap27 or 37,43Gap27 (a). Similarly, TXB2 levels were measured in Cx37−/− (b) and Cx40−/− (c) mouse platelets upon stimulation with 1 μg ml−1 CRP-XL. The levels of TXB2 obtained in human platelets were shown as concentrations. The levels of TXB2 obtained with resting platelets in Cx37+/+ or Cx40+/+ mouse platelets were taken as 100% for comparison with Cx37- or Cx40-deficient mouse platelets. R, resting platelets.
