(a) STHdhQ7/7 cells show localization of OS-9 in the ERQC both in untreated and in proteasome-inhibited cells (+Lac), whereas H2a accumulates in the compartment only under stressed conditions. BiP remains disperse through the peripheral ER both in normal and stressed conditions. Scale bar, 10 μm. (b) H2a-RFP accumulation as in Fig. 1c, but including S-tagged OS-9 as a marker of the ERQC, where H2a accumulates during the Htt96Q aggregate formation. The cells were grown for 24 h after transfection before fixation in all cases.
