Figure 5: Comparative analysis of tumour-associated DCs in M-TDLN.

From: slanDCs selectively accumulate in carcinoma-draining lymph nodes and marginate metastatic cells

Figure 5

(ai) Sections are from M-TDLN and stained as indicated. In this representative case (n=5), CD303+ pDCs (a) and CD1a+ iDCs (b) are mostly expanded in their own nodal compartments, with iDCs also infiltrating the tumour (T) nests, whereas DD2+ slanDCs are found at the periphery of the tumour nodule (c). As shown by double staining, slanDCs are negative for CD83 (d) and CD208/DC-LAMP (e), at variance with CD1a+ iDCs (f), but co-express HLA-II molecule (g), CD40 (h) and TNFα (i). Sections are counterstained with Meyer’s haematoxylin (af and h,i) and DAPI (g). Original magnifications: 100X (ac, scale bar, 200 μm); 200X (d,e, scale bar, 100 μm); 400X (f, scale bar, 50 μm); 600X (gi, scale bar, 33 μm).
