  1. Schmid factors (m) of the slip systems on the (111) plane of a Au [110] nanowire loaded along the wire axis. The values are summarized according to the types of dislocations (given in the Thompson’s tetrahedron notation) that are responsible for the respective deformation in each loading condition (refer to Fig. 1d). To consider detwinning of a twinned nanowire during the recompression, the Schmid factors were calculated for three possible dislocations on a twin boundary.
