(b) On-resonance excitation signal as a function of the number of spectroscopy pulses with (blue circles) and without (red squares) repumper. The solid lines (left axis) are numerical simulations from which the Rabi frequency Ω of the spectroscopy laser is extracted. The dashed and dotted lines (right axis) are derived from the same simulations and give the corresponding integrated number of absorbed photons with and without repumper, respectively.
