The expression of bmp4, notch1b, tbx2b, has2 and anf in wild-type and kctd10 mutant embryos at 34 and/or 48 hpf was shown by in situ hybridization. The expression patterns of bmp4, notch1b and tbx2b did not differ dramatically between the mutant and wild-type embryos at 34 hpf (a,b,e,f,i,j), but showed significant difference at 48 hpf (c,d,g,h,k,l). Has2 were localized to a restricted region in wild-type embryos (m,o), while its expression expanded significantly in the mutant, especially at 34 hpf (n,p) The border of the heart is delineated with the dotted lines. The expression of anf was also upregulated and detected in the AVC in the mutant (q,r; the arrow in q indicates the AVC.) at 48 hpf.
