Dots are colour coded according to ecosystem type, and the star indicates Stordalen Mire. Purple shading indicates permafrost distribution and classification. This figure was drawn using the R58 package ‘maps’ version 2.2-6 ( http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/maps/) then modified with Gimp (gimp.org) and Inkscape (inkscape.org).
