The CD signal was measured at 222 nm and converted to fraction folded according to the formula ([CD]obs–[CD]D)/([CD]N–[CD]D), where CD is the signal measured in mdegrees, CDD is the signal for the denatured state, CDN is the signal for the native state and CDobs is the signal at each data point in between N and D. Temperature scans were measured at (a) pH 8.0 and (b) at pH 5.5 and were fitted to a two-state unfolding model to obtain melting temperatures.
